Gullinbursti

Region of origin: Scandinavia

In Norse mythology, Gullinbursti was a large, literally golden boar crafted by the dwarves Brokkr and Eitri along with the hammer Mjolnir and the magical ring Draupnir as part of a wager with Loki and the Sons of Ivaldi. Brokkr and Eitri claimed Gullinbursti was swifter than any horse, and its golden fur shone brightly in the darkness. After winning the contest, the boar was presented as a gift to the god Freyr, who took it as his steed.
